Evaluation
Inservice/Professional Development timing vary from half day to full day, a couple of hours before or after school to a weekend course. To that end we strongly urge you to consider your timing and what workshop(s) best fit within your time parameter.
Examples of schedules that may be considered are as follows:
If you have a maximum of 120 minutes of time for professional development, you are encouraged to consider one of the workshops that can be completed in 90 minutes or less. This will mean the selection of one workshop only.
If you have between 120 minutes and 240 minutes, we encourage you to consider two different workshops of no more than 180 minutes total. This will allow for breaks and other necessary information when conducting the workshops. For instance, you might consider one 90 minute workshop from the individual skills area (Assessment or Making your program count) and one from either the areas of program components or outreach (such as Collection development in a school library, Staff responsibilities for different positions in a school library, Making standards work for you, Advocacy – the right message to the right audience, Foreign language collection relevance, or school & public library connections).
OR
You might consider three 60 minute workshops, one from each area, or two workshops, one 60 minutes in length and one 90 minutes in length.
